To Daet and Back Again

Well we had another pretty great week out here in Naga. Well I guess I shouldn't say just Naga, because we spent a few days in another province. Like I said, we had another Mission Leadership Council last week, and it went just great. Elder Saddi and I gave the workshop on the Plan of Salvation and we both learned a ton from all the input everyone had about it, some of the main points being about why it's important for us to teach the plan. It gives people Hope by teaching them the Atonement, and it helps put everything else into context when you understand it. Anyway, it was cool to be with everyone again, and there was some new missionaries in there that did a great job.
A couple hours later, we were off to the far zone for our exchanges. We had to take it slow a bit, because the road was a little crowded and we didn't want the missionaries getting sick. We had an awesome dinner at a restaurant up there that's right on the beach. First time I've seen the ocean in almost a year! We were all so excited we ran out on the beach before we left. Then we had our exchanges and those went just awesome. We also got to stop by and talk with one of the missionaries that just arrived a couple weeks ago. They seem to be doin pretty well, he may just be shocked at being in the middle of nowhere haha. We also dropped off a package for him, and in it was toilet paper haha. I warned him about that. We then went into the second day of exchanges which went awesome as well.
The drive back home to Naga that night was crazy. Imagine driving on those canyon roads in the Cottonwood canyons (crazy sharp turns out of nowhere, and with worse road quality), pitch black, going above freeway speeds, with no other laws for the most part. Oh and to top it off, the people that live in the mountains that separate the provinces? Yeah they walk all over the road at night with absolutely no regard for cars that are coming down the road. I didn't break the speed record yet, but I got a good feel for the road so maybe next time.
Besides that, we kind of got killed for work this week because of everything that happened. But we still saw progress with a few of our investigators so that was great. We struggle a bit with one, Carlito, because he can't read or write and has a pretty weak memory. He's coming to church every week and his neighbors/family do a great job fellowshipping, and I think he really likes it though. Another guy, Elmer, is also doin pretty great. He has 6 sons, all above ten years old. He seems super interested and read the intro to the Book of Mormon that we left with him and had a ton of questions. He said if he ends up joining the church, he will be happy to be a real Christian. Pretty cool.
As for this week, pretty busy again. Meetings with the new missionaries, more exchanges, and other stuff too. We'll see how it goes. Oh and Valentine's Day! One of my buddies here in the office that we share a house with was Dear Johned by his girlfriend two weeks ago so we are trying to figure out something good to do, because now none of us here has a girlfriend so we aren't really expecting much on that day. If you have any ideas let us know haha. All we've got so far is goin out for pizza. Sounds fun right?
Anyways, Love you all and hope you all have a great Valentine's Day!
